CPI on the range! Team building and culture building at CPI
Team building events and culture building
At CPI, we take immense pride not only in the quality of the lines we build but also in ensuring our team feels valued. We recognize the demanding work our team undertakes and are committed to showing our appreciation through well-planned events and culture-building activities. Our annual sheet shoot event provides a great opportunity for our team members to interact and bond with management. Additionally, we introduced a golf tournament this year, which we plan to make an annual tradition. These initiatives are integral to fostering a positive and cohesive work environment.
Equipment & safety materials all provided
At CPI, our commitment to safety is second to none. We conduct daily safety briefings and hold quarterly company-wide safety meetings to review our performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that everyone goes home safely. Our employees receive comprehensive training, including trenching and excavation classes, and we have hosted United Power’s High Voltage demonstration to highlight the dangers of high voltage lines. These initiatives underscore our dedication to safety. Moreover, we have strengthened our fleet with new equipment and maintain a full team of mechanics to ensure optimal performance. These measures reflect our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency at CPI.
Lineman apprenticeship program
We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new training yard, designed to facilitate both overhead and underground training. Our operations managers conduct Friday classes to provide hands-on training in small groups, ensuring that all questions are thoroughly addressed and understood. We continuously adapt our training programs to ensure our linemen accumulate the necessary hours for testing and gain valuable experience. Our apprentice program typically spans approximately three years for those who have attended line school, and four years for those who have not. Regardless of whether you have completed a lineman’s school program (such as NLC, junior college, Rocky Mountain Lineman’s School, etc.), you are eligible to enter the apprentice program after six months of employment. If you have completed a lineman’s school, you will receive 2,000 hours of credit.
Military veterans, we have your back!
At CPI, we deeply value our veterans, understanding that this job demands both hard work and a team-oriented approach. Through our CPI VETS program, veterans can utilize the GI Bill to enter our apprentice program and eventually achieve journeyman's wages. Please note that there is a waiting period before joining the apprentice program.
