HIRING: Journey Lineman

Experienced journeyman lineman responsible for constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and inspecting overhead and underground electrical power lines and related equipment across transmission and distribution systems. Work closely with crew leaders and support safe, reliable power delivery.
Key responsibilities: Construct, install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines and associated equipment. Climb poles, operate aerial lifts, and work from bucket trucks to perform line work safely. Perform energized and de-energized switching, splicing, and terminations on high-voltage and extra-high-voltage (EHV) systems in accordance with procedures. Read and interpret schematics, plans, and work orders; perform testing and diagnostics. Execute scheduled and emergency outage response, restoration, and storm recovery operations. Lead on-the-job safety: enforce PPE, grounding, hot-stick, and fall-protection procedures; conduct tailboards and safety briefings. Train, mentor, and supervise apprentice linemen and crew members. Complete required documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance logs. Required qualifications: Valid Colorado commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred, Ability to obtain it through Colorado Powerline Inc, Journeyman lineman certification or equivalent trade school/apprenticeship completion. Proven experience working on energized and de-energized high-voltage and extra-high-voltage (EHV) transmission systems. Proficiency with hot-stick, live-line, and grounding techniques. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of utility standards and OSHA regulations. Preferred skills: First Aid/CPR and pole-top rescue certification. Ability to read blueprints, maps, and electrical diagrams. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Working conditions: Working conditions could include inclement weather, rugged terrain and remote locations. Physically demanding outdoor work; irregular hours, on-call, and extended shifts during outages.

Colorado Powerline Inc. is hiring entry-level apprentice linemen to train toward journeyman status. Under direct supervision, apprentices assist with construction, maintenance, and inspection tasks while learning safe practices and technical skills on distribution and transmission systems.
Key responsibilities: Assist in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground power lines and equipment. Support energized and de-energized work under supervision, including splicing, terminations, and grounding on high-voltage systems when qualified and permitted. Operate tools and equipment (hand tools, winches, aerial devices) and help set up safety measures. Participate in on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and apprenticeship requirements. Perform routine inspections, cleanups, and equipment checks; assist in emergency outage response. Follow instructions from journeymen and foremen; attend safety briefings and complete assigned logs. Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Basic mechanical aptitude and desire to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions. Valid Colorado commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred, Ability to obtain it through Colorado Powerline Inc, Willingness to learn energized and de-energized high-voltage and EHV transmission system work under supervision. Preferred skills: CDL or ability to obtain; basic tool and equipment familiarity. First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain certifications. Strong work ethic, teamwork, and attention to safety. Colorado Powerline Inc. is hiring an Underground Equipment Operator to run backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and excavators for underground powerline utility work (conduit, duct banks, vaults, cable pulls). Must follow direction, utility safety protocols, and maintain equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Safely operate backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, excavators for excavation, trenching, backfill, and site cleanup on powerline projects. Excavate trenches and install conduit, duct banks, handholes and vaults to specified depths, grades, and tolerances. Recognize and respect live utilities; follow utility locates, site markings, drawings, and one-call procedures before digging. Maintain awareness of slopes, spoil placement, trench protection (shoring/benching), and other excavation hazards; implement protective measures per OSHA/NESC. Follow lockout/tagout, grounding, and de-energized work procedures as directed by site supervisors. Perform daily inspections, greasing, basic maintenance, fueling and cleaning of assigned equipment, report defects promptly. Follow company safety policies, wear required PPE, report hazards/incidents, and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings. Qualifications: Proven experience operating backhoes, trenchers, skid steers and excavators on underground electrical/powerline projects. Knowledge of underground power construction practices (conduit, vaults, duct banks, cable pulling) and utility locating procedures. Familiarity with OSHA excavation regulations and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) preferred. Ability to read basic plans, grade stakes, and follow written/verbal instructions. A valid driver’s license and must have a CDL. Reliable, punctual, physically fit, and able to work outdoors in various conditions. Frequent climbing, operating controls, lifting, bending; ability to lift up to ~50 lbs. Work in trenches, vaults, construction sites, and near energized equipment; possible travel to multiple sites.
HIRING: Overhead Lineman Foreman

Lead and supervise an overhead distribution crew installing, maintaining, and repairing energized and de-energized overhead lines. Must be a hands-on foreman able to perform hot work, operate a bucket truck, drive company vehicles (valid CDL required), and coordinate out-of-town/state assignments when needed.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily crew activities, assign tasks, and ensure safe, efficient job completion. Perform and oversee hot-line/live-line work per company of procedures and industry standards. Operate aerial devices/bucket trucks, rigging, and hand/portable power tools safely. Climb poles and perform traditional lineman duties when required. Conduct on-the-job training, mentor apprentices, and evaluate crew performance. Read and interpret work orders, construction drawings, and switching procedures. Qualifications: Journey-level overhead lineman with proven supervisory experience Qualified to perform hot-line/live-line work (experience/certification as required by employer). Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) — Class A preferred; must meet company driving standards. Proven experience operating bucket trucks and aerial devices. Strong knowledge of distribution systems, switching, and safety protocols. Competent in equipment inspection and basic troubleshooting. Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Working Conditions: Outdoor field work in all weather conditions; physical, hands-on tasks including climbing and lifting. Possible extended hours, weekend work, and travel for multi-day out-of-town/state projects. Safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to PPE and drug/alcohol testing policies.
